DHHR Reports Increase of 57 Positive Cases of COVID-19 including 1 in Harrison County; Deaths Related to Virus now at 74

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this evening (Tuesday, May 26) at 5 p.m., the total number of positive COVID-19 cases has increased from 1,797 to 1,854; an increase of 57.

Tuesday evening’s report is showing that the total number of tests given is 87,811 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is at 2.11 percent. The daily percent positive is at 7.11 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results)

According to the DHHR website, Harrison County’s number of positive cases has increased from 38 to 39 with one death and 20 recoveries. 

Also, the DHHR is reporting the number of statewide deaths has increased from 73 to 74. The 74th death is a 75-year-old male from Preston County.

The number of recoveries from the virus is at 1,180.
